DIVE
2005 new products special!
Fourth
Element Hydroskin
To
kick off our sensational selection is the Hydroskin from those very
nice people at Fourth Element.
Constructed
using high grade low friction lycra, the Hydroskin is great as a
comfort layer underneath a wet or semi dry suit. For the ultra smooth
fabric reduces friction between the skin and the suit, whilst aiding
donning of the suit. In addition, it reduces the chafing that can
occur when wearing a tight or ill fitting suit, being particularly
pertinent for any diver that rents equipment, or Professionals who
live in their suit.
Wearability
has been thought of, with thumb loops fitted to prevent the sleeves
of this garment riding up, and a minimum of seams has been used
to maximise the comfort of the garment against the skin.
The Hydroskin
is particularly useful for those who are allergic to neoprene, as
it acts as a barrier between the suit and the skin, reducing the
risk of developing a skin rash.
Alternatively,
being 98% UV Proof, the Hydroskin also makes a great coverup for
snorkelling and other watersports. It's currently available in a
long sleeve unisex style in black (RRP £29.95) and a women's
short sleeve version (RRP £24.95) as shown.

A
plethora of Sharks from Reef Jewelry for divers everywhere
Divers loving
shark jewellery should seriously take a look at Reef Jewelry's collection.
It is not often that a company puts its money where it's mouth is.
But that is exactly what Reef Jewelry did when it was founded in
2001. From day one they have had a commitment to marine conservation
donating a percentage of all of their sales to help the Shark Trust
continue their important work. (This is the charity dedicated to
the conservation, study and management of sharks, skates and rays).
Today Reef Jewelry produce on behalf of the Shark Trust their logo
in a choice of metals for the discerning diver.
"I
take my inspiration from nature, as I've loved the outdoors for
as long as I can remember", stated Peter Barbarovich, Reef
Jewelry's Designer. "It was natural to develop a range of underwater
collections that echo the serene beauty of the Ocean. Divers love
our Shark Collection, with one of the most popular items being the
18ct three dimensional Hammerhead Pendant because it really does
show off the shark’s grace. Hammerheads are loved, for we’ve
sold many satin finished ‘Small Hammerhead’ pendants.

However
if you are looking for something a little different then we have
just launched a new design, and something I am very proud of. Our
18ct Gold Blue Shark with its sleek tapered body. Alternatively
one of our other hot Collections has been the Starfish, a favorite
being the 18ct White Gold Small Diamond Starfish. With its beautiful
simple lines, ladies love this sophisticated delicate piece.

We've
found that our customers like the fact they have a choice when it
comes to our collections. Be it Sterling Silver, 9ct or 18ct Gold,
White Gold or Platinum, there is something to meet everyone's budget.
We like to offer the best service we can, and so free shipping world-wide
and a gift wrapping service is standard across the board.

We
always look forward to seeing new faces and old friends at the Birmingham
Dive Show. We get great pleasure when clients come back to see us,
not only wearing our jewellery, but to add to their collection.
However what makes us really proud is our commitment to marine conservation,
as we donate a percentage of all of our sales to help the Shark
Trust continue their important work. (This is the charity dedicated
to the conservation, study and management of sharks, skates and
rays). We do feel at Reef Jewelry that we are making tomorrow's
legacy, what better way to promote shark conservation"!

Bell
Island Wrecks Seminar
If
like us, you are a passionate temperate water diver why not attend
Ocean Quest's 11am Bell Island Wrecks Seminar at the Show. For centuries
vessels have run aground on Newfoundland's seductive coastline,
with one of the more interesting sites being that of the Bell Island
Wrecks. In 1942 four Allied iron-ore carriers were torpedoed by
German U-Boats. Today they sit upright and intact in clear waters,
covered in an abundance of star fish, anemones, sea urchins, mussels
and crabs.
In
addition to the wrecks there's much to see here, from breathtaking
icebergs to majestic whales including Humpbacks. The waters of Conception
Bay are rich with life so it's not unusual to find Cunners, Lump
Fish, Eel Pouts and Wolf Fish on many dives, with 15 - 30 metres
visibility being the norm. Being only a mere five hours flying time
away from Heathrow and with Air Canada's amazing luggage allowance,
experiencing Newfoundland's spectacular diving has never been easier.
At
Dive 2005, Ocean Quest will be offering all Nitrox certified divers
who book a Dive & Stay Package at the show, a complimentary
tank of Nitrox 32 each day they dive. The dive sites are suitable
for the beginner through to technical, and all packages include
transfers, accommodation and breakfast (hot lunch is also served
on their dive boat). So if you're looking for a new and exciting
destination, go and visit Stand 713 or log onto www.oceanquestcharters.com.

Custom
Divers launched their latest baby at DIVE 2005 – The Pocket
Reel
Dive
2005 saw Custom Diver’s debuting their diminutive reel.
“Our
Ratchet Reel has proved to be very popular over the years”,
stated Alex Vassallo, Custom Divers CEO. “Now we are proud
to announce we’ve augmented our Reel Collection with the launch
of a new Pocket Reel. Like it’s cousins, this reel benefits
from being designed to offer the diver both ratchet and free run
functions.

This
reel came about because divers demanded it. One of the nice things
about the Dive Shows is that many divers come and talk to us about
our products and tell us what they need. It does help to keep us
on our toes! Although there are other small reels on the market,
one thing that we were regularly asked for was a petite reel. Divers
told us they needed a 50 metre line reel that could be used when
cold water diving that encompassed many tasks. For example, as a
jump reel, when deploying a D-SMB or simply stashing as a backup.
As
the name suggests this is quite a dinky reel, thus allowing diver
to not only hold the reel in one hand, but also lets them select
the Free Running Mode, simply by depressing the spring actioned
pawl with their finger. One the main reasons the Ratchet has been
so popular with divers is that they can adjust the spool run to
their need or taste, whilst still enjoying snag free line deployment.
It was only natural therefore that the Pocket Reel should benefits
from these features. When it comes to line, as with all our reels,
the Pocket comes with a 98kg breaking strain 2mm line in a choice
of white, neon yellow or pink line.
The
Pocket Reel is an ideal ‘divers first reel’. We all
know that a decent reel is a key component of elementary diving
equipment. Hence when we designed the Pocket Reel we bore this in
mind, for we made it a Marmite Reel. As the divers experience grows,
the reels flexibility and capability continues to support their
diving needs, so they never grow out of it.

The
recommended retail price of the Pocket Reel with White Line is £55.00
while the neon pink or yellow is £58.00.
